Take Your Taste Buds on a Trip with Asian Barbeque Chicken

1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
2. In a small saucepan, combine the following ingredients: 1/2 cup hoisin sauce, 1/4 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce, 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
3. Heat the sauce over medium heat until it comes to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool.
4. Cut 2 lbs. of boneless, skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch thick strips.
5. Place the chicken strips in a large resealable plastic bag, and pour in half of the sauce (about 3/4 cup). Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
6. Reserve the remaining sauce for basting.
7. Thread the chicken strips onto skewers. If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning.
8. Grill the chicken skewers for 8-12 minutes, or until they're cooked through, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved sauce.
9. Serve the chicken with the remaining sauce for dipping, if desired.
10. Enjoy your Asian Barbeque Chicken with your choice of side dishes!
11. Optionally, you can garnish the chicken with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
12. You can also grill pineapple slices and serve them alongside the chicken for a tropical twist.
13. If you don't have a grill, you can also cook the chicken in a grill pan or under the broiler in your oven.
